They Call Me “Handy Andy.”

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Well, that’s at least what Sarah’s mom calls me. And, as of late, to my suprise, I have been living up to my name. As you have read, [maybe?] we stole back my washer/dryer from my ex-life in Pittsburgh. After travelling more than 750 miles to get them, we get here, and we’re in a world of hurt. To get the washer/dryer working, I had to…

  1. Unload into carport
  2. Move into backroom
  3. Shut off power to house, rewire outlet for washer
  4. Turn power back on, plug in washer
  5. Turn on washer, watch it not work
  6. Go to LOWES, buy:
    • PVC Pipe
    • Pipe Clamp
    • Dryer Cord
    • 3 pack of fuses
  7. Come back, install dryer cord and dryer vent, dryer works.
  8. Replace fuse, washer works, pvc drain spout doesn’t.
  9. Return to LOWES, buy rubber tubing and 4 pipe clamps
  10. Return home, install rubber tubing for washer drain, washer works.

We ended up spending 130 on gas and 40 in parts to get them to work, but finally they are up and running.  I am happy for that, and I think my roomates are as well, seeing how we have pretty much had them running non stop sense I got them to work.

Today I got my schedule at work.  I close every night next week.  Absolutely rough.

I’m working on so many projects right now!  Hopefully I can post some of them [aka, get some of them done] in the near future.

As for now, it’s 2:30, and I’m getting both bored and sleepy.  Pride and Prejudice comes tomorrow from Netflix.

Goodnight. Much love.
