A Band of Theiving Gypsies
Thursday, May 25th, 2006Yesterday at 5:30, it sure seemed like a good idea to wear matching Gamma Unit Tshirts. Well, let me assure you, that is a rough rough road.
We left at 5:30 for Pittsburgh, arriving there around noon. Met up with Kirk to get the key to my old house, then went to IKEA. I successfully went through IKEA and didn’t buy anything, buy my roomates weren’t as lucky, spending a combined 400$. After IKEA we went shopping at a local mall, I bought some Fleet Center Lows [20twenty] and two Lits [59fifty.] We headed for Mikes.
The thing to understand about Mike’s house is one thing. When I was there, it was decent. Mike is a generally sloppy, dirty man, but I thought I had him under control enough to last for a while. It hasn’t been a year yet, and that house is in total disseray. It’s tempting to call the realtor and let them know.
There is trash everywhere. I felt like I was in slum-town USA. The carpets are now shot, there are holes in the walls [apprently caused by machetes?] and most couches and seats were covered in a light yellow color. Downstairs, the location of said washer and dryer, there were almost two million Pabst Blue Ribbon cans.
We loaded up the car with the following items: [most listed as I cannot remember everything]
- Maytag Washer and Dryer
- Four Chairs [two green, two white]
- Garden Rake
- Tub of things from my youth
- A dozen baseballs
- Industrial soup cooker
- Glass Dining room table
I’m sure that there is more stuff that I have accidently omitted from the list. But the biggies are the washer and dryer, which need to be hooked up for me to do laundry.
Check the flickr [see right, under ‘polaroids’] for pictures of the last two days.
Much love.
