Sensual Macbooks and Homosexual Tendencies
March 8th, 2007Last Monday, at work, I inadvertently dumped a soda on my Macbook. Needless to say, sodas and expensive electronics generally don’t mix, so the next day I took off work and drove to Chicago. The geek ( this term used affectionately ) informed me that my computer was in the lonely land of “tier 4″1 After a long night, we returned to Warsaw. Tuesday night was spent laying in bed, freaking out because I am computer-less.
Wednesday was spent freaking out.
On Thursday I went to the bank and took out a loan for 1600$.
Friday I was spent not freaking out.
Saturday, we got up bright and early and headed back to Chicago. 12 hours later, I was returning to Warsaw with my brand new MacBook Pro. Finally, after a few days of configuration, I think I am back up and running on this stunning silver beast. It’s been a stressful week, but I think we’re back in business.
This week I’ve been off school, which means I’ve been working during the day ( iblinkink ) and living the dream the rest of the time. My daily schedule is as follows.
- 6:10am. - Alarm goes off, stumble from bed to shower
- 6:30am. - Wake up Smith.
- 7:00-7:30am. - Punch in at work
- 9:15am. - Oatmeal break with Brandon and Mark
- 12:00pm. - PB&J and Fluffernutter break with Mark
- 6pm. - Clock out.
- 7pm. - Dinner with Smith.
- 8pm. - Movie times with Smith.
- 11pm. - Smith and I head to bed.
I guess you could call this living the dream. But, to some, it appears that I have altered my sexual orientation.
Today, Smith and I went to Fort Wayne to pick up a car at the airport. Afterwards, we went the Mall for a good time of me watching Smith buy clothes. I ate at Chic-fil-a, and when I was up getting a refill, the cashier asked if me and Smith were ‘together.’ Smith replied “yeah, but not like that,” to which she replied, “I thought you two were dating.” Splendid.2
So, after 2 weeks, I’m out a computer and I’m gay. La-te-freaking-da.
1 There are 5 tiers to the Apple Repair Policy, tier 1 being the easiest to fix, tier 5 being ‘unrepairable.’
2 I’m in no way opposed to the preferences of another person, and this post is in no way intended to be offensive.
